Job description

Job Title: Drone Field Service Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to undertake in-depth, daily system-level investigations for our Prime Air Drone system at our commercial operations sites. This role is pivotal in driving enhanced reliability within our ultra-fast drone delivery operations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot drone issues observed during operations and rapidly find solutions to safely return drones to service.
  • Support new drone delivery sites by provisioning site equipment, programming check flights, and verifying nominal performance before commercial operations begin.
  • Ensure a high degree of technical reliability within drone operations by working closely with design engineering and service engineering staff.
  • Provide engineering analyses and solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to identify opportunities and lead the implementation of system improvements.
  • Serve as the first line of communication between operator/maintainer experiences and design engineering improvements or mitigations.

Essential Skills

  • BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent required.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting with modern programming languages.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in Aviation or Aerospace.
  • Experience with drone systems.
  • Experience working with operations teams to resolve urgent issues.
  • Familiarity with engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
