Job description

Description

We are looking for a Propane Service Technician who will maintain bulk propane tanks and related systems across multiple sites, ensuring optimal operation and full compliance with safety standards.

  • Install and set up bulk propane tanks at residential and commercial locations.
  • Connect tanks and piping systems in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
  • Perform leak tests and pressure checks on tanks and lines to ensure system integrity and safety compliance.
  • Safely operate a six-speed boom truck equipped with a crane to transport and position tanks.
  • Set up temporary heating systems for construction or residential sites during winter months.
  • Operate a tank mover and related equipment to position and relocate propane tanks efficiently.
  • Move and install up to 1000-gallon tanks and related components around construction sites as needed.
  • Connect multiple tanks together ("pigtailing") to ensure proper system configuration and performance.
  • Deliver propane or related products to customers, accurately metering each delivery.
  • Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety and DOT regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in refrigeration, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and basic refrigeration. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with customers and team members.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. EPA certification or similar technical credential preferred.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of working independently or as a part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, outdoor conditions, and customer-facing settings.
  • Commercial Driver License Class B.
  • Hazmat Endorsement.
