The Site Manager (Logistics) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, including inventory control, dispatch coordination, customer and partner communication, and overall service execution. This role partners with internal leadership, customers, and external service providers to ensure efficient transportation flow, on-time performance, and consistent service quality.
This position is accountable for operational performance, safety compliance, issue resolution, KPI attainment, and supporting profitability through effective resource management and continuous process improvement.
Job Duties
  • Ensure adherence to customer service-level agreements
  • Coordinate with external partners to secure cost-effective transportation solutions and competitive rates
  • Oversee timely movement of freight by proactively identifying and resolving service disruptions and operational issues
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with service providers, customers, and internal teams
  • Respond to and manage urgent or time-sensitive operational situations
  • Promote and maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate operational data such as inventory status, budgets, revenue trends, and risk factors to leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability
  • Supervise dispatch and operational staff, providing direction and performance oversight
  • Balance cost efficiency with service quality to maintain effective partnerships
  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory visibility and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Coordinate scheduling of pickups and deliveries while providing timely updates to customers and stakeholders
  • Support staging and workflow planning to reduce delays and improve throughput
  • Monitor daily performance metrics and address service issues as they arise
  • Track active and scheduled orders to prevent bottlenecks and ensure proactive communication of delays or risks
  • Drive consistent execution through corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and process improvements

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or fleet operations
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in an operational environment preferred
  • Experience coordinating carriers, drivers, dispatch functions, and customer communications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet operational deadlines consistently
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), inventory systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience analyzing operational performance data and driving process improvements
  • Knowledge of safety practices and regulatory compliance in transportation/logistics
  • Experience managing budgets and cost control initiatives preferred
  • Automotive logistics or freight transportation experience considered an asset
  • Carrier management and rate negotiation experience preferred
