Job description

Our academic instructors provide core instruction in Reading, Math or HSD/GED to students and promote student achievement. At the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center, operated by Education and Training Resources (ETR) for the US Department of Labor, our qualified and dedicated staff provide academic, vocational and social skills training to help at-risk youth and young adults become long-term, competent employees who succeed in today's competitive workforce and become productive citizens in our increasingly complex society.
MAIN DUTIES:
• Develop and prepare lesson plans, administer and correct tests
• Identify, select and modify instructional resources to meet student needs
• Motivate and counsel students about study habits, behavior and personal issues
• Coordinate with other staff to resolve issues affecting student achievement
• Model appropriate behavior, mentor students and monitor behaviors
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full-time working weekdays from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field, valid Minnesota teaching license and valid Minnesota driver’s license with acceptable driving record. One year teaching experience preferred.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$3,000 SIGNING BONUS - half paid upon hire and half paid after 90 days
$50,000 per year plus benefits, including 12 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick time, 401(k) with match, and medical, dental and vision insurance
