MPS enrolls nearly 150 deaf and hard of hearing students on our Framingham, MA campus in an ASL/English bilingual, bicultural educational model.
About Walden School:
Walden School is a nationally-recognized residential therapeutic and education program for deaf children and youth ages 8 to 22 who have often experienced significant adverse childhood events as well as language deprivation.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Student Services
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Commonwealth of Massachusetts RMV's curriculum and in-car instruction to driver education students.
Comply with MA rules and regulations regarding the driver's training vehicle and its occupants for safe and efficient travel at all times.
Instruct students to adhere to all regulations pertaining to driving and the necessary skills to operate a motor vehicle safely, responsibly, and effectively.
Prepare students to identify, predict, and respond according to urban and rural driving environments.
Maintain and prepare all necessary documents, reports, records, and driver hours.
Develop training routes, incorporating time requirements and learning objectives for each lesson.
Provide the MA state-required parent class for minor drivers and communicate student progress with parents.
Communicate with students and/or parents (for minor students) about the process of obtaining an MA State Driver's License.
Work with the Advancement Department to develop marketing content for recruitment of students to the program.
Ensure the completion of the necessary documentation to maintain TLC certification and license to be able to provide Massachusetts Driving Instruction courses and instruction.
Report on enrollment and other metrics for the program.
Maintain current MA Driving Instructor Certification and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record in good standing.
