Job description

Parts Driver

The Parts Driver delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership. Essential duties and responsibilities include picking up and delivering parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors. The driver checks with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries. They deliver parts to the body shop when needed and distribute to appropriate body technicians. The driver verifies that the invoice matches the purchase order for each pick-up and checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery. They keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, request recipient's signature on each delivery entry, unload the truck each night, and turn in all paperwork and undelivered parts. The driver handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling the tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed. They advise the parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance. The driver assists the service department as needed with attendant responsibilities of managing the drop-off and pick-up of customer cars. They help with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts. The driver maintains a professional attitude with co-workers, customers, vendors, follows the dress code the company has put in place, maintains a clean and neat work area, follows federal, state, and local law as well as company policy about safeguarding all information, reports on time to work and follows the schedule that is given, calls the supervisor if they cannot be at work on time, keeps current with annual HR training along with any other training that might be required for this position, follows all company policies and procedures, and notifies the supervisor of any illegal activity.

The individual must maintain an accountable driving record according to our insurance standards at all times.
