CDL Shuttle Driver

The primary objective of a CDL Driver is to safely and efficiently operate commercial vehicles to transport passengers, goods, or materials while complying with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies. This role ensures timely and reliable transportation services, maintains vehicle safety and cleanliness, and delivers exceptional customer service. CDL Drivers are responsible for adhering to schedules, handling cargo or passenger needs professionally, and contributing to the overall success of the transportation operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Safe and Efficient Transportation Operate shuttles or commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, following all traffic laws, conducting regular inspections, reporting issues, and adjusting routes as needed to maintain timely service.

Passenger Assistance and Customer Service Provide welcoming experience by assisting passengers with boarding, luggage, and mobility needs, while offering helpful information and professionally addressing concerns to ensure a safe and positive travel experience.

Vehicle Maintenance and Safety Compliance Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain a clean and safe vehicle, and report issues promptly. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, DOT regulations, and CDL standards, operating the shuttle safely and efficiently in all conditions.

Communication and Coordination Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, staff, and management to ensure smooth operations, follow protocols for real-time updates, and collaborate with teams to deliver seamless transportation services. Must be able to use a personal cell phone for work purposes, if required.

Customer Service and Teamwork Handle challenging situations with professionalism, resolve problems promptly, and ensure high-quality service. They balance individual responsibilities while fostering a positive team environment, supporting colleagues, and recognizing team accomplishments.

Attendance and Professionalism Maintain regular attendance, adhere to company policies, and uphold PMC standards for safe and efficient parking operations. Arrive on time, in full uniform, and properly groomed before clocking in.

Additional Responsibilities Support evolving business needs by completing other tasks as assigned, attending required meetings and training, and maintaining schedule flexibility.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required. Customer service experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on a positive, helpful attitude and willingness to provide excellent service. Previous experience in parking, hospitality, or related customer service fields is beneficial.
  • Candidates must be at least 25 years old and possess a valid Class C CDL driver's license with a passenger (P) endorsement if applicable. A minimum of one (1) year of shuttle driving or transportation experience is required.
  • Applicants must have a clean driving record with no major violations and successfully complete an MVR check, background screening, and DOT physical examination (if applicable) to maintain compliance with company and safety standards.

Class C Commercial Driving License (CDL) Specifications, Licensing and Requirements • A Class C license with a Passenger (P) endorsement is required for operating vehicles such as passenger vans, minivans, stretch limousines, light trucks, and small buses. These vehicles must have the capacity to transport 16 to 23 passengers, including the driver. • Valid Class C license with passenger endorsement and a clean driving record for the past 3 years. • Current DOT medical certification and compliance with drug screening requirements.

Physical Demands Must be able to sit for extended periods while driving, lift to 50 pounds, and work in various weather conditions, all while maintaining professionalism and high-quality service in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Cell Phone Use Employees may be required to use personal cell phones for work-related communication, including coordination with team members, managers, and clients, as well as accessing work applications. Reimbursement for work-related phone usage will follow company policy.
