Position Description: Northstar Equipment Rentals is hiring a Delivery Driver in Edmonton. This role will be responsible for the loading and unloading of the NorthStar Equipment Rentals delivery truck, transport of all rental, sales, and miscellaneous materials to and from customer work sites. In a safe and professional manner.

Reporting to: Branch Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safe and courteous operation of NorthStar Equipment Rentals vehicles and equipment
  • Complete daily inspections of equipment and communicate any concerns with the Order Desk
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and constant communication with the NorthStar Equipment Rentals Order Desk
  • Responsible for securing all loads and adhering to all Provincial and Federal regulations and standards set by the Department of Transportation
  • Responsible for timely deliveries and returns of tools and equipment
  • Accurate and legible completion of customer paperwork
  • Maintain a clean and safe delivery related vehicle
  • Communicate all vehicle maintenance concerns to Manager
  • Towing trailer, including loading and offloading of equipment
  • Perform additional job- assignments as directed by Manager including but not limited to organizing, sorting, and other warehouse duties.
  • Represent NorthStar Equipment Rentals in a professional and respectful manner
  • Adhere to NorthStar Equipment Rentals' policies and procedures

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks in an effective, organized manner, ability to multitask
  • Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Must be organized and able to work without direct supervision
  • Punctual, professional, and motivated
  • Willingness to participate with an on-call system and be able to work overtime as required
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and a clear understanding of equipment safety
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Qualifications:

  • Valid class 3 Drivers License with air brakes a clean driver abstract is required - preference will be given to those with a class 1 drivers license
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Equipment hauling experience required
  • Previous experience with a tandem roll back deck truck strongly preferred
  • Previous experience driving a 5 ton drop deck truck an asset
  • Valid first aid certificate an asset
  • Forklift, MEWP and Skidsteer experience/certification an asset
