Job Description

The Driver Assistant DEA will work along an Environmental Driver Specialist. The Driver Assistant DEA will act as a witness to the packaging, videotaping, and destruction of DEA waste. Assistant will also help in other areas when needed including the segregation of waste, completion of paperwork, management of inventory, and working in warehouse.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Act as a witness at customer locations where DEA controlled substances are involved.
  • Ride along with a CDL Driver to assist with duties at their stops.
  • Get supplies needed for the day.
  • Video the destruction process of DEA controlled substances and upload video into employer system.
  • Requires up to 50% overnight travel based on routes
  • Load containers and supplies to truck for daily service stops
  • May assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with appropriate regulations and policies, practices, and procedures.    
  • Follow all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in procedures and policies.    
  • Complete paperwork legibly, accurately, and in a timely manner.    
  • Performs related work and additional duties as requested or assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Regular contact with external customers and different levels of personnel on a daily basis.
  • Candidate must meet all requirements for handling DEA regulated waste
  • Drive non-DOT regulated vehicle to customer sites to witness regulated waste collection as needed.
  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.  
  • Ability to obtain Hazwoper within first 90 days.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more years related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge OSHA Regulations.
  • Proficiency with Windows based programs (i.e. Excel and Word)
  • Ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift  
  • Clean driving record
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow procedures.

  • Knowledge OSHA Regulations.
