Description

 Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services is a locally operated company committed to providing dependable, sustainable waste and recycling solutions for our community. We take pride in safety, efficiency, and teamwork while delivering exceptional service to our customers every day. We are seeking a reliable and proactive Helper to work alongside a Solid Waste Driver to assist with the collection and loading of refuse and recyclable materials from residential and commercial customers. This position is physically demanding and requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service.


***This is not a DRIVER role.

Requirements

  • Collect and load refuse or recyclables from customer locations using carts or front-load containers for hydraulic emptying by the truck.
     
  • Accompany drivers on assigned local pickup routes and assist with daily route completion.
     
  • Communicate pickup updates to customers, drivers, and dispatch as needed.
     
  • Load the truck in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring all materials match work orders.
     
  • Climb in and out of the truck cab frequently throughout the day to accommodate customer pickups.
     
  • Obtain pickup confirmations through manual or electronic methods using a handheld tablet device.
     
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates on all orders and route progress.
     
  • Assist the driver when maneuvering the truck into tight or complex positions for pickup.
     
  • Safely lift, push, and pull bags or receptacles weighing 50-75+ pounds on a consistent basis.
     
  • Adhere to all company safety standards and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. 


What We Look for:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
     
  • High school diploma or GED required.
     
  • At least 1 year of experience in the waste management industry or a similar labor-intensive or driving role preferred.
     
  • Knowledge of refuse collection procedures, safety practices, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations preferred.
     
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and maintain a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
     
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
