Northwest Texas Healthcare System is assisting Texas Tech Health Sciences Center University (TTUHSC) School of Medicine in Amarillo, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in recruiting a BC/BE OB/GYN physician for a position with the faculty group, Texas Tech Physicians of Amarillo.
The Department and OB/GYN Residency Program at TTUHSC at Amarillo is a collegial, tight-knit community of residents and faculty with a big mission to train confident and compassionate physicians and deliver evidence-based, family-centered care for a diverse population in an open learning environment. The department averages 2,500 clinic visits a month and performs 2,000 deliveries and 500 gynecologic surgeries per year.
Northwest Texas Healthcare System, training site for the program, is a tertiary care facility and regional trauma center providing care to the nearly 500,000 residents of the 26-county Texas Panhandle area and surrounding region and border states. NWTHS is a Level III Maternal Designation facility, providing specialized care for high-risk pregnancies. The hospital was recently recognized by the Texas District of ACOG for Outstanding Maternal Quality for 100% compliance with maternal health achievements.
Opportunity Requirements and Highlights:
  • BC/BE Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program
  • Provide consultations and clinical services in outpatient and inpatient settings including high-risk
  • Supervise and teach residents and medical students
  • Call duties shared equally with all OB/GYN faculty
  • Participate in research and scholarly activities in the department
  • Participate in committees and other administrative dues as assigned
  • Compensation includes a base salary, full benefits package, relocation, and sign-on
  • Academic appointment with rank of Assistant or Associate Professor
The Women's Center at Northwest Texas Healthcare System features the Childbirth Center which provides exceptional advanced maternity care through its team of highly trained OB/GYNs, MFM specialists, OB Anesthesia providers, high-risk OB nurses, Neonatologists, and Neonatal NPs and nurses. The hospital is a high-risk referral center for the vast region and offers helicopter transport to transport high-risk, expectant mothers from the surrounding region. The Women's Imaging Center provides breast screenings, bone density scans, and educational and support resources for early detection and diagnosis. The Women's and Children's Clinic offers outpatient prenatal, gynecological, and pediatric services to the community of Amarillo.
Northwest Children's Hospital provides compassionate care to children and their families with 29 private, spacious inpatient rooms, a 12-bed PICU, and a 35-bed Level III NICU, the largest in the region.
