JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible and capable of all types of repairs both hydraulic and electrical commercial irrigation system. Assist Branch Manager or Irrigation Manager in scheduling and supervising any Technician I & II.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Always abide by company code of conduct and safety standards
  • Trench, backfill and excavate soil for irrigation repairs or installations
  • Maintain organize, stocked and clean irrigation truck and tools
  • Maintain job site safe, clean, and organized condition
  • Ability to understand and follow all standard irrigation procedures safely
  • Ability to understand irrigation components and terminology
  • Ability to understand replace and adjust both spray heads and rotors properly
  • Ability to understand, manually operate irrigation valves, replacement and adjustments
  • Ability to understand complete irrigation forms for material usage and work request
  • Inspects equipment to ensure good working order and charged prior to arriving at job site or leaving the yard
  • Efficiently and completely perform irrigation inspections and mapping
  • Installation of landscape drainage
  • Ability to troubleshoot irrigation problems and coverage issues
  • Repair and install PVC up to and including 3"
  • Repairs and replaces RVC's up to including 3"
  • Ability to operate irrigation system from the clock and make program adjustments
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot both hydraulic and electrical issues
  • Ability to utilize, tracker, toner, voltmeter, ground fault locator
  • Ability to layout and design of all types of sprinkler heads
  • Ability to understand and install drip irrigation and the maintenance required
  • Ability to safely operation of a trencher
  • Ability to organize paperwork, timecards and inventory of truck
  • Assist with creating work orders and can estimate minor irrigation repairs and upgrades
  • Assist with providing complete and legible irrigation inspections
  • Can identify minor irrigation upgrades, field notes and basic site maps
  • Can perform and record complete PMI's
  • Installation and programming all brands of controllers
  • Installation of flow monitoring devises, wiring and testing
  • Proper programing of flow devices
  • Design and Installation of landscape drainage
  • Troubleshoot irrigation problems and coverage issues
  • Repair and install PVCs up to and including 4" and thrust blocks
  • Repair and install RVCs up to and including 4"
  • Operate irrigation system from the clock or remote by computer
  • Ability to layout design of all types of sprinkler heads
  • Ability to write proposals pertaining to repair, upgrades, and installations
  • Capable of two-wire troubleshooting and installation
  • Installation, design and maintenance of drip irrigation
  • Troubleshoot 24-volt field wiring and solenoid issues
  • Troubleshoot and program decoders on two wire systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair backflow devices
  • Understand proper controller programing
  • Assist with irrigation design in installation layout
  • Assist with hiring and training of Technician I & II
  • Create complete job start up inspections and proposals
  • Create work orders, estimate irrigation repairs and upgrades
  • Manage irrigation inventory
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience
  • At least four years' commercial irrigation experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
License or Certification
  • As required by state and federal law
  • Valid driver license issued by the state where employed
  • Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) License in state where employed preferred
