Job description

Responsibilities

Infusion RNs assess, plan, evaluate, and implement a patient plan of care according to the individual needs of the patient as prescribed by physicians. Infusion RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer infusions via peripherally inserted central catheters such as chemotherapy, hydration, blood and blood components, other drugs, and solutions
  • Monitor patients and record any change of condition, notifying physician and/or supervisor when necessary
  • Educate patients on the procedure and aftercare
