DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled, resourceful, and adaptable Engineering Technician to support daily manufacturing operations on 2nd shift (Monday - Thursday 2pm - 12:30am). The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for supporting the production of x-ray tube/power supply and neutron generator products.

This hands-on role serves as the first line of technical support for manufacturing equipment, test systems, fixtures, and production processes. The Engineering Technician will troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of issues, including equipment faults, software and network connectivity problems, fixture adjustments, replacement of worn or failed components, and other production interruptions. The ideal candidate is a versatile problem solver who can quickly assess issues, coordinate with engineering when needed, and help keep manufacturing operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily sustaining support for manufacturing operations, ensuring high equipment availability and minimal production downtime
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues involving equipment, fixtures, software, network connectivity, sensors, interlocks, and test systems
• Respond to equipment alarms, failures, and process interruptions in a timely manner
• Diagnose root causes of equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions when appropriate
• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain production fixtures and test equipment
• Perform routine and non-routine preventive maintenance (PMs) on manufacturing equipment and toolsets
• Replace or repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic components as needed
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with engineering teams to escalate complex issues and implement permanent corrective actions
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, troubleshooting findings, and equipment changes in accordance with quality requirements
• Manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities based on production needs
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and manufacturing efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with at least 2 years OR HS/GED with 4 years of equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing, engineering support, maintenance, or a related role.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, automated systems, or production test equipment
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems
• Ability to systematically diagnose and resolve equipment and process issues
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs
• Familiarity with common diagnostic tools such as multimeters and basic hand tools
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments
• Experience troubleshooting software-controlled equipment or automated test systems
• Experience working with sensors, safety interlocks, barcode scanners, or machine interfaces
• Experience building or modifying production fixtures and test equipment
• Basic machine shop skills (lathe, mill, drill press, power tools)
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Colorado is $19.49–$25.99.
