Opportunity Overview:

Lead drilling operations, staff, budgets, schedules, safety, quality, and equipment planning to deliver efficient, cost-effective fieldwork.  This is a newly created position due to growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop estimates, proposals, budgets, and schedules with project leadership.
  • Track costs, labor, equipment use, and performance; correct variances.
  • Communicate scope, field, delay, and other cost or schedule impacts.
  • Plan staffing, overtime, equipment, maintenance, and future needs.
  • Lead, train, coach, and evaluate the Department Assistant and drilling crews.
  • Support hiring and personnel decisions and set coordination priorities.
  • Promote safety, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure crews have the information, equipment, and resources they need.
  • Monitor productivity, schedules, field conditions, and equipment issues.
  • Manage safety, cost, schedule, and quality risks; resolve issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with project teams and remain accountable for drilling performance.


Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of geotechnical drilling experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of drilling methods, equipment, tooling, maintenance, and safe operation.
  • Experience leading crews and coordinating projects, schedules, and field layouts.
  • Understanding of estimating, budgets, labor and equipment costs, and productivity.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and adaptability.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills; valid driver’s license and acceptable record. CDL preferred.
