Job description

AEI, an STV Company, is looking for a Full-Time Senior Geotechnical Drilling Technician out of our Glasgow, KY location.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performdrilling for routine soil sampling projects as well as more difficult drilling tasks including coring in deep overburden, casing installation, mud rotary drilling in excess of 100 feet and instrumentation installations.

  • Performshallow coring for foundation investigations with assistance of Geotech Driller.

  • Responsible for the direction of the drill helper and training new drillers as needed.

  • Limited operation of dozer to achieve access for drilling equipment.

  • Performroutine maintenance on drilling equipment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ten (10) years' or more of experience performing geotechnical drilling.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and written to complete daily field reports and boring logs. Basic math is required for depths of borings and volume calculations.

  • Ability to pull trailers in varying length up to 16 feet

  • Class A CDL preferred

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds 50 times per day. Occasionally required to lift 150 pounds (about once a week).

  • Work will typically occur in all types of weather and around significant construction equipment with exposure to dirt, grease, oils, etc.

  • Walking over various types of terrain is required such as low-lying swampy areas to mountainous, rugged terrain. Significant time spent bending or kneeling during each day.

  • Most drilling operations require out of town stays

Compensation Range:

$64,848.58 - $74,112.66
