With over 15 years of disaster response experience on U.S. waterways, Zulu Marine Services collaborates with federal, state, and local agencies to clear thousands of miles of waterways using purpose-built equipment. Its mission is to protect and preserve natural environments through innovative shoreline stabilization and erosion control methods, supporting long-term ecosystem health. Through dedicated divisions in waterway clearing, shoreline stabilization, and dredging, the company is committed to strengthening shorelines, restoring ecosystems, and protecting the future.

Role Description The Marine Construction Site Supervisor is a full-time, hybrid role based in Savannah, GA, with moderate travel required. This role oversees daily marine construction activities, including planning, coordinating, and supervising crews working on shoreline stabilization, waterway clearing, and dredging projects. Responsibilities include monitoring safety and environmental compliance, managing equipment and vessel operations, tracking project progress, and ensuring work quality meets specifications and regulatory requirements. The supervisor communicates regularly with project managers, clients, and agency representatives, prepares site reports and documentation, and assists with scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation. This role also supports crew training, fosters a culture of safety and teamwork, and helps implement best practices for nature-based solutions and marine operations.

Qualifications

  • Marine Operations and Maritime skills, including experience overseeing work on waterways, shorelines, or marine construction sites.
  • Boat and Navy-related experience, such as operating or supervising vessel activities, and familiarity with naval or maritime standards and protocols.
  • Training skills, including the ability to coach, mentor, and develop crew members in safety procedures, equipment use, and project best practices.
  • Experience in construction supervision, civil or marine engineering, or related field work, preferably in shoreline stabilization or dredging.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and risk management in marine or construction environments.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams in the field.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and permits; proficiency with basic project documentation and reporting.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to project sites as needed.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA safety training, marine or construction supervision) are beneficial.
