Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled BIM Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting construction and design projects by implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes on-site.


Key responsibilities

  • Work on the job site to verify installed conditions and compare them with project drawings
  • Mark redlines on drawings to reflect field changes and installation adjustments
  • Take field measurements and document discrepancies between drawings and installation
  • Collect and organize field information to support the preparation of as built drawings
  • Communicate observed issues or changes to the BIM or design team
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of field conditions
  • Coordinate with field crews when clarification is needed regarding installations
  • Ensure redlines are clear, complete, and ready for the modeling or drafting team to update the drawings
  • Assist the team in maintaining up to date as built documentation throughout the project
  • Report field findings and updates to the project team in a timely manner


Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings (MEP drawings preferred)
  • Basic understanding of as-built documentation and redline markups
  • Ability to take accurate field measurements and document installed conditions
  • Comfortable working on job sites and communicating with field crews
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to clearly mark revisions and discrepancies on drawings
  • Basic knowledge of construction processes and installation practices
  • Ability to use tablets, Bluebeam, or similar tools for field documentation
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with the BIM Team
