Job description

Job Description and Priorities

Pay: $70-85K plus company car and all expenses and benefits

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve customer reports of technical issues with packaging equipment and eliminate future operational or service difficulties.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Install and/or repair equipment at the customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications in a timely manner.
  • Maintain quality and quantity of work on equipment.
  • Listen attentively and ask questions as appropriate.
  • Complete work assignments with minimum supervision.
  • Retrieve and respond to messages daily on all communication tools.
  • Complete Service Documentation on service call details and time spent on the call to ensure reports are complete and accurate.
  • Keep team members and customers informed of arrival times.
  • Provide contact information for the service team for future service and parts needs.Ensure the customer is comfortable with operational and safety procedures of their equipment.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in electrical, electronics, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Controls experience to accommodate PLC, HMI, and VFD operation and modifications as needed.
  • Ability to respond and adjust to changing or new situations.
  • Ability to work well in high-stress environments and maintain professionalism in dealing with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to work effectively in unsupervised settings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot advanced mechanical, electronic, and operational aspects of machines.
  • Strong focus on problem-solving and preventative maintenance for machine service.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other Requirements

  • Current valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to travel in a 4 hour radius of Saint Louis.
