Assembles minor products or components with a small number of details within routine and highly repetitive assembly operations. Typically works at a workbench or on a conveyer line. Common tasks include checking, sorting, packaging, labeling, pasting, sniping, tying, or trimming either manually or by machine. Performs basic equipment adjustments, routine maintenance, and cleaning. May perform miscellaneous jobs such as moving assemblies/machines or cleaning floors. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision. Typical job titles include: General Labor, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer, Assembler and Line Operator.

What You'll Do

As a Machine Operator, you'll support the manufacturing and packaging of copper tube products while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and quality-focused production environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assembling products or components using manual and machine-assisted processes.
  • Performing production tasks such as inspecting, sorting, packaging, labeling, trimming, tying, snipping, or preparing materials.
  • Operating basic manufacturing or packaging equipment.
  • Making minor equipment adjustments within the scope of the position.
  • Monitoring product quality and reporting defects or equipment concerns to supervision.
  • Completing routine workstation cleaning and basic preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Moving materials, products, assemblies, or equipment to support production flow.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Following plant safety requirements, established work instructions, and applicable CBA provisions.
  • Performing other related duties assigned to support production operations.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation for this union position is established and governed by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • Pay rates, wage progression, premiums, and shift differentials are determined by the CBA in effect at the time of hire.
  • Individual pay is based on job classification, assigned shift, and the applicable contractual wage schedule rather than individual negotiation.
  • Benefits and additional compensation are also governed by the CBA and may include medical coverage, retirement benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, and applicable shift premiums.
