Job Summary:

The Down-stacker works within a team to operate the corrugated machine in a safe, efficient and reliable manner.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Continually monitors quality of board
  • Inspects product visually and with measuring tools
  • Monitor output and adjust machine with communication to maintain product quality
  • Maintain and report operating and quality records
  • Check all machinery for mechanical soundness and make sure all safety features are in good working condition and report all unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Administration of the different waste categories
  • Maintain at all times the machine at expected housekeeping standards
  • Cross-training to learn other corrugator functions
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Assists other departments and/or areas when requested by management/supervisor
  • Troubleshoot when operating issue on machine occur
  • Train other team members to pass on knowledge & expertise

Other Functions:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data/facts (observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources) and draw reasonable conclusions
  • Ability to deal with various situations
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team In addition to the functions listed above, the employee is expected to: exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrate a positive attitude, communicate effectively with co-workers and clients, work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail, maintain good attendance by working when and where directed, work safely in compliance with all safety policies, respect the work environment and keep it as neat and clean as possible, and exercise initiative to learn new skills and tasks and to help co-workers when possible.  The employee is also expected to perform such other duties and functions as required and assigned from time to time.

Qualifications: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; up to two (2) years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail orientated and self-motivated individual (proactive attitude)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, learn quickly and follow established processes
  • Good mathematical skills - understand basic algebra, able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, volume etc. (add and subtract numbers, multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s …)

Machines/Tools/Equipment:

  • Corrugator, Flexo’s,  Flat Bed Die Cutters, Rotary Die Cutters, Joiners, Printing
