Job description

Paramount Printing is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Guillotine Cutter to join our production team. The Guillotine Cutter will be responsible for cutting materials according to cutting orders, ensuring accurate dimensions and high-quality preparation for the printing press. The ideal candidate will have experience with cutting equipment, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards in the workplace.
Second Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Effectively run all digital die cutting equipment
  • Complete jobs according to customer specifications by producing quality work and performing quality checks
  • Monitor production throughout the run for quality, maintaining all required samples as designated by the customer and procedures
  • Complete standard set up and standard adjustments
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance in accordance with production schedule
  • Troubleshoot various machine issues as needed
  • Ensure you have proper supplies/inventory on hand to meet production needs
  • Perform maintenance of department equipment
  • Contribute to safety goals by maintaining a clean, clutter-free workplace, report potentially unsafe conditions and ensure that the department meets and exceeds safety requirements
  • Meet productivity and quality standards by completing work in timely and accurate manner
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar role preferred
  • Proficiency in operating machinery and tools used in manufacturing processes
  • Must be able to use and read measuring tape
  • Basic computer skills including email, basic mouse, keyboard, and menu navigation
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to utilize the tact and diplomacy required to foster a team environment while keeping projects on schedule and budget.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience operating a Guillotine Cutting Machine
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees.
  • Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and the like using feet and legs or hands and arms.
  • Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
  • Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
  • Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.

Manual dexterity is needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
