Job description:

AMERI-CANS is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Technician at their Newark, OH location. This is a critical role supporting the day-to-day execution of a rapidly growing portable sanitation company that takes pride in doing things the right way and executing the impossible.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on restroom trailers (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural components).
  • Install, uninstall, and troubleshoot temporary water and waste systems, pumps, and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues, including clogs, leaks, pumps, water tanks, and waste systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems: outlets, breakers, wiring, lighting, batteries, and generators.
  • Service HVAC systems (A/C, heaters, ventilation) to ensure comfort and proper operation.
  • Monitor and maintain freshwater and waste tank levels; perform proper pumping, cleaning, and odor control.
  • Handle general maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, welding, flooring, and fixture repairs.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory in good working order.
  • Deploy on repair/ maintenance calls including emergency repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure units are event-ready, clean, and in excellent working condition before deployment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician, RV mechanic, or similar hands-on repair role.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems (water pumps, hoses, fittings, water/waste management).
  • Experience with residential plumbing systems ( supply side and drain side)
  • Demonstrated ability to install, uninstall, and troubleshoot water tanks and water systems.
  • Strong Electrical Skills AC/DC
  • Experience with HVAC systems (basic troubleshooting and repair of A/C and heating units).
  • Equipment operation: skid steer, forklift, large trucks (Non CDL).
  • Mechanical aptitude for trailer-related repairs (welding, carpentry, general handyman skills a plus).
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Adherence to a background check
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States of America. Some of the job sites that we support require U.S. American citizenship and a clean criminal history to access their sites.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are the representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Position requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; move fingers and hands, ability to stoop, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and crouch. Perform the essential duties with minimal or no supervision. Lift and carry up to 50lbs and drag 185lbs.
