Drafting Supervisor 
Job Description: Summary of Position: 
 Manage the Mechanical Drafters and Administrative Assistant in the Engineering Group. Support the Engineering group in new product development, customer specific products, production engineering, and quality initiatives.
Job Specification: Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
 • Leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products and processes 
• Checking their team’s work for technical accuracy 
• Ensuring the validity of methods used by staff 
• Organizational Skills for keeping track of various projects, employees and schedules simultaneously
• Coordinating work with other managers and staff 
• Supervising the development of software tools used by staff 
• Hiring Supervising staff 
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFACITONS AND REQUIREMENTS
 • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role 
• BS or BSET in Engineering preferred – disciplines of engineering include mechanical, industrial, robotics, computer science, mechatronic, or similar 
• Strong leadership, employee development and teamwork abilities
 • Effective communication both verbal and written 
• Efficient computer and Microsoft software skills 
• Time management and problem-solving skills 
• Knowledge of steel types 
• Self-motivated, well organized, and goal-oriented
 • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems 
• Communication Skills for working with customers and/or other management personnel
 • Able to effectively communicate instructions while leading a team to meet goals and detail-oriented for understanding complex systems 
• CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.); the ability to read blueprints and proficiently create and revise schematics or drawings 
• Self-motivated, confident, and professional in dealing with customers, both internal and external 
• Able to effectively interface with customers in both individual and in group settings in order to conduct training, resolve system issues, or to promote solutions
