POSITION SUMMARY

Capable of performing work as assigned and mentored by a Designer, Lead Project Designer or Drafting Manager. CAD Drafters draft hand sketches from engineers utilizing AutoCAD computer software.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

•     Perform drafting duties utilizing basic drafting skills and techniques in compliance with company drafting standards.   

•     Learn and apply the company drafting and engineering practices.   

•     Basic Computer Aided Drafting on assigned projects utilizing AutoCAD.   

•     Capably of generating/revising different types of "scaled" and "non-scaled" drawings.   

•     Printing, plotting & filling of drawings.   

•     Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel & Microsoft Office Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment.   

•     Occasionally travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments to gather field data.   

•     Complete high paced assignments through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and executions of assigned work.   

•     Communicate effectively with a wide diversity of personnel with varying technical backgrounds including engineers, designers, vendors, and management.  

•     Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.   

•     Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.

Education:    High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), Vocational/Technical “Drafting and Design” 2 year Associates Degree or equal: Required 

Experience:   0 - 3 year related experience 

Computer Skills:    Operational knowledge of AutoCAD. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel & Microsoft Office Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment.  

Certifications & Licenses:      CADD/Drafting Degree or Certificate preferred.
