What is a drafting job?

Drafting jobs involve creating detailed technical drawings and plans used by engineers, architects, and construction professionals to build structures, machines, or products. Drafters use computer-aided design (CAD) software to turn ideas and specifications into precise blueprints and schematics. These professionals may specialize in areas like architectural, mechanical, or civil drafting, depending on the industry. Drafting jobs require strong attention to detail, technical skills, and the ability to interpret complex instructions or designs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a drafter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Drafter, you need strong technical drawing skills, attention to detail, and typically an associate degree or certification in drafting or a related field.
