Job description

DR/Business Continuity SpecialistAbout Blue Rose Consulting Group

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is a certified HUBZone and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business supporting Federal customers with mission-focused technology, professional services, and operational support. We are building a team for the anticipated Department of State Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) effort supporting the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, Enterprise Applications Directorate, Office of Consular Systems and Technology.

About the Role

Provide specialized Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity support across enterprise infrastructure, databases, and application environments. This position supports the Department of State Consular Affairs global information technology environment—including domestic and overseas facilities, on-premises infrastructure, and cloud platforms—ensuring operational resilience, data protection, and high-availability design standards. This is a contingent position based on contract award and final customer requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Facilitate, document, and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, governance processes, and operational testing across critical enterprise systems.

  • Maintain and manage enterprise backup and replication architectures, ensuring data integrity and rapid recovery capabilities across storage platforms.

  • Support automated failover configurations and $2\text{N}$ redundancy architectural designs to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service delivery.

  • Ensure all DR procedures and backup environments comply with High Value Asset (HVA) security directives and federal regulatory frameworks.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and cloud teams to continuously refine recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).

Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years of direct experience supporting DR planning, technical documentation, and routine failover testing.

  • Hands-on proficiency with enterprise backup and replication technologies, specifically EMC Data Domain and Oracle ZDLRA.

  • Practical familiarity with automated failover configurations, high-availability setups, and $2\text{N}$ redundancy designs.

  • Direct experience supporting High Value Asset (HVA) security controls and compliance requirements in DR environments.

  • Active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, or other Federal IT environments.

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CBCP, EDRP, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, or vendor storage certifications).

  • Knowledge of cloud-based disaster recovery practices and hybrid failover architectures.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, assigned work location, and final contract requirements. Blue Rose offers a competitive benefits package for eligible full-time employees. Specific compensation and benefit details will be provided during the recruiting process.

Application Process

Please submit a current resume that clearly demonstrates the required experience, technical qualifications, certifications, and active security clearance. Candidates selected for consideration may be asked to provide additional information to support contract staffing and clearance verification.

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

This position is in anticipation of contract award and is contingent upon successful contract award. Applicants will be contacted regarding employment opportunities upon award notification.
