Job description

MEMCO Staffing is currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for construction projects throughout the Greater Houston Area. We are looking for dependable operators with hands-on experience operating heavy machinery, including excavators, dozers, and loaders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites.
  • Operate excavators, bulldozers/dozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery as assigned.
  • Operate GPS-equipped heavy equipment, particularly dozers, to perform grading and earthwork according to project specifications.
  • Perform excavation, grading, site clearing, loading, and material-moving activities.
  • Read and follow project plans, grade stakes, GPS information, and site instructions.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
  • Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures while operating equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, laborers, grade checkers, and other equipment operators.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while meeting project deadlines and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Previous commercial construction experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, and/or loaders.
  • Experience operating GPS-controlled or GPS-equipped equipment is highly preferred, especially dozers.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment in an active construction environment.
  • Knowledge of grading, excavation, earthwork, and material handling.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Strong understanding of construction-site safety practices.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
