This role can be filled in our San Francisco headquarters OR remotely in the US or Canada.
About you
  • Foremost an engineer. You exemplify high code quality and guide others, and have at least 5 years of industry experience as a data engineer or similar role.
    • You are experienced in creating automated testing, applying design patterns, and other engineering best practices.
    • You are an expert in Python and possess fluency in SQL and have developed maintainable data pipelines with each.
  • Experienced People Manager. You have experience managing 3 or more people whereby you were accountable for their growth and success as individuals and team members.
  • Communication Extraordinaire. You excel at communicating to both technical and non-technical people, with an ability to explain complex concepts simply.
  • Player Coach. You are able to contribute individually, outside of your reports or team, balancing priorities between being a player (i.e. individual contributor) and a coach (i.e. manager or mentor).
  • See a project from end-to-end. You have led several projects, your own ideas and other's. This means from idea generation to planning, execution, through delivering.
  • ML/AI-aware. You have working knowledge of how ML/AI applications are deployed and monitored, and you're motivated to use this awareness to advance data-driven initiatives.

Here's How You Will Make an Impact
  • Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to develop pipelines and ETL tasks in order to facilitate the extraction of insights.
  • Establish data architecture processes and practices that can be scheduled, automated, replicated and serve as standards for other teams to leverage.Inform data team strategy by working with the product leaders and managers.
  • Actively participate in execution and some planning of organizational data team strategy.
  • Collaborate with Doximity's Data Leadership team to ensure alignment and success across the entire Data Organization.
  • Manage individual Data Engineers to foster learning, growth and success at Doximity.

Compensation
The US total compensation range for this full-time position is $172,000 - $254,000 (inclusive of salary + equity). Our ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the approximate total target compensation for the position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, and education/training. Please note that the compensation listed does not include benefits.
