Job description

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a full-time Cytopathologist to join its Faculty Practice at Mount Sinai Downtown in Union Square. This role involves providing ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration services, particularly for head and neck lesions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in rendering immediate onsite evaluation and diagnostic information to treating physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration services, particularly head and neck lesions
  • Render immediate onsite evaluation and diagnostic information to the treating/referring physician
  • Provide diagnostic information in the form of a written pathology report and call back when warranted
  • Collaborate with colleagues as an integral part of a health system
  • Actively participate as a multi-disciplinary team member in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck tumors
  • Support laboratory and hospital quality improvement and accreditation initiatives

Compensation

  • Compensation range from $173,000 to $305,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Requirements

  • MD or DO from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Pathology and certificate of qualification in Cytopathology
  • Three to five years of experience in cytopathology with expertise in performing ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration, in particular head and neck lesions
