Job description

Mint Pineapple Boutique is looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Receiving Team Member to join our warehouse team.

The Receiving Team Member is responsible for accurately receiving incoming merchandise, verifying products and quantities, inspecting merchandise for quality, and ensuring inventory is properly processed and organized for the next stage of our operation.

Receiving is an important part of our business. Accuracy at receiving affects inventory, online sales, fulfillment, shipping, and ultimately the customer experience. We expect team members to take ownership of their work and treat every product with care.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Break down boxes and properly dispose of or organize packaging materials.
  • Help prepare new merchandise for launches, live sales, photography, fulfillment, or other departments as needed.
  • Communicate with the Warehouse Manager and other team members regarding incoming products and inventory issues.
  • Assist other areas of the warehouse when receiving responsibilities are completed or additional help is needed.

Quality & Accuracy Expectations

Receiving Team Members are expected to:

  • Count accurately — do not guess.
  • Inspect merchandise before putting it into inventory.
  • Never knowingly place damaged or defective merchandise into sellable inventory.
  • Verify that the correct product, size, color, style, and quantity were received.
  • Handle merchandise carefully and professionally.
  • Keep inventory organized and in the correct locations.
  • Ask questions when something does not match or when unsure how an item should be processed.
  • Report problems rather than attempting to hide, ignore, or work around them.

Team Expectations

We expect every Mint Pineapple Boutique employee to:

  • Arrive on time and ready to work.
  • Maintain dependable attendance.
  • Follow instructions from management.
  • Work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy.
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers and management.
  • Take responsibility for mistakes and help correct them.
  • Respect company merchandise, equipment, and property.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Be willing to assist other departments when business needs require it.
  • Follow all Mint Pineapple Boutique policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

This position involves working in a warehouse environment and requires:

  • MUST be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Repeated bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
  • Opening, moving, and processing cartons of merchandise.
  • Moving merchandise and boxes throughout the receiving and warehouse areas.
  • Working at an efficient pace during high-volume receiving periods.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Ability to follow established processes.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and inventory-system skills are preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, receiving, inventory, retail, or fulfillment experience is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. is required for this position.

Accountability

Receiving Team Members are responsible for the accuracy and quality of the merchandise they process.

Repeated inventory errors, failure to follow receiving procedures, careless handling of merchandise, failure to report discrepancies, attendance issues, or failure to meet established performance expectations may result in corrective action.

Our goal is simple: receive the right merchandise, in the right quantity, in the right condition, and get it accurately into our inventory system and warehouse.
