Job description

We are looking for an experienced commercial driver to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. Originating from the Bryan/College Station, TX area to Wilmer, TX and Center, TX with possible back hauls from various shippers.

Description
Responsibilities
โ€ข Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants
โ€ข Perform daily required pre- and post- trip inspections. Report defects that could be in violation of FMCSA/DOT compliance to include accidents or driving violations throughout the work shift
โ€ข Plan routes to obey local traffic laws and meet delivery schedules
โ€ข Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
โ€ข Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
โ€ข Verify delivery instructions and BOL submission to dispatch
Requirements and skills
โ€ข Proven work experience operating tractor/trailer combinations for at least 1 year
โ€ข Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)
โ€ข Ability to work up to the allowable daily hours of service
โ€ข Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations in accordance with state and federal DOT regulations
โ€ข No recent moving or driving violations (within 3 years, exceptions are case by case basis)
โ€ข Adaptability to changing traffic and/or weather patterns
โ€ข Willingness to submit to background/random drug testing per company/FMCSA policy
โ€ข Valid commercial driver's license (Class A)
