Job description

CDL Class B DriverWhat You'll Get to Do

The CDL Class B Driver is responsible for safely transporting and unloading metal and/or glass products to customers while providing strong customer service and resolving issues that may arise. This position reports directly to the Fleet Manager.

This role is ideal for an individual who is safetyfocused, selfmotivated, and flexible with shift start and end times. As a key member of the Fleet Department, this is an opportunity to build a longterm career with an industry leader.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Daytoday activities include handling, loading, and unloading glass and/or metal products, load securement, daily pretrip and posttrip inspections, multiple deliveries, and customer interaction

  • Unloading may include loose, crated, and racked glass, metal, and associated products, as well as operating boom cranes

  • Regular and predictable attendance, safe task performance, and strict adherence to all DOT regulations, company safety policies, procedures, and Critical Safety Rules are essential functions of the role

 
What We Are Looking For
  • Must meet all DOT requirements, including an unexpired Medical Examiner's Certificate

  • Flexibility with start and end times

  • Ability to read and interpret mathematical measurements of glass sizes, delivery schedules, and effectively use a tape measure

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Minimum of 2 years flatbed experience

  • Must be available to spend 2 nights out per week

  • Must have an Interstate CDL Class B (able to drive across state lines)

  • Air Brakes Endorsement is REQUIRED - all fleet trucks are equipped with air brakes, and candidates without this endorsement cannot be considered
