Job description

Position Overview

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking motivated and dependable independent contractors to join our team as Residential Garage Door Technicians. In this 1099 contractor role, you will provide garage door repair, installation, and maintenance services for residential customers while delivering a high level of customer service and professionalism.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and interested in building a flexible, performance-driven career.

No prior garage door experience is required — training is provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform residential garage door repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose customer concerns and provide effective solutions in a professional manner
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Maintain a high level of customer service throughout each job
  • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and ladders up to 8 feet
  • Remove and haul away old garage doors and equipment
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and work order updates

Requirements:

  • Must own a pickup truck that is 20 years old or newer
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools and equipment
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and climbing ladders
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work within the selected market area
  • Commitment to a 10-day onboarding program at our training center in Fort Worth, TX

Compensation & Contractor Information:
