Job description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Hardware Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end deployment of laboratory hardware for our enterprise-wide Epic Beaker implementation. This individual will be responsible for managing the logistics, tracking, and deployment of approximately 1,000 lab label printers across all acute sites, mini-labs, and outpatient facilities. This is a critical role that requires a hands-on approach to mitigate risks and ensure a seamless go-live.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of hardware deployment, from procurement and receiving to staging, testing (TDR), and final installation.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed tracking system for all hardware assets.
  • Coordinate with vendors (e.g., CDW) and internal teams to manage storage, staging areas, and network requirements (switches, drops).
  • Conduct site assessments to ensure all logistical requirements (ports, electrical outlets) are met prior to deployment.
  • Oversee the configuration and connectivity of lab label printers (Zebra, Intermec) and ensure they map correctly to workstation records in Epic.
  • Act as the primary owner of the hardware workstream, providing regular status updates to project leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in IT project management, specifically with large-scale hardware deployments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware, networking, and connectivity.
  • Exceptional organizational and tracking skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience in a healthcare or laboratory environment is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Epic and/or laboratory information systems (LIS) is a significant plus.
  • Ability to work independently and "hit the ground running."

This is a Contract position based out of Hartford, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
