Job description

Contacts eligible blood donors by telephone and other approved communication methods from previously developed lists to setup a donation appointment.  Candidate will need to have strong customer services skills enabling them to schedule a large number of appointments for our concierge service, rare donor program and platelet conversions...


The list of essential functions outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the duties and responsibilities performed within this classification.   • By telephone and other approved communication methods (emails, text, flyers), contacts eligible blood donors and recruits them to donate regularly
  • Provides excellent customer service at all times; establishes rapport with donors and potential donors, and educates them on the organization’s programs and services
  • Enters donor information into the electronic database and utilizes various methods for appointment reminders
  • Complies with and maintains current knowledge and understanding of Donor Recruitment policies, procedures and other related regulations
  • Assists in stabilizing and maintaining blood donation inventory levels.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:

None

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and comfortable speaking with donors on the phone
  • Ability to meet pre-defined monthly metrics related to outreach calls, appointments confirmed, booking accuracy, and show rates; eligible to earn a monthly incentive award based upon goal achievements
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Skill in operating office equipment
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and database software navigation 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds).  Tasks may involve some manual dexterity, visual acuity, hearing acuity, and extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Functions are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements and pathogenic substances.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
