World Vision is hiring a Donation Processing Specialist I (On Call) to serve in the Finance Division.

Location: Federal Way, WA / Hybrid
Required Experience: High School/GED or equivalent. Practical, specialized work experience in office administration, mail room, or related area; 2-3 years. Requires at least one year of work experience in remittance, accounts receivable or cashiering, with ten-key proficiency.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A for any employer.

The Job
The Donation Processing Specialist I (On Call) will process donor mail through remittance processing machines to sort incoming mail, open and properly categorize incoming mail and interoffice mail. Help carry out our Christian organization's mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
Responsibilities
  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
  • Analyze and determine proper handling of incoming mail, including multiple category sorts and specialized processing of multiple mail categories. Route checks and/or documents to appropriate departments for further processing. Verify the amount of cash received and balance as required, following appropriate cash control procedures.
  • Operate, maintain daily and troubleshoot high speed mail processing equipment, such as the Opex 5.0, Opex 50 and Olympus II pre-sorter.
  • Sort interoffice mail and maintain log of all Priority Mail.
  • Receive all incoming Picture Folder returns and search all items to ensure that no financial or confidential documents are contained in the returns.
  • Research accounts and complete address changes in donor accounting system.
  • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.
