The Development Department at Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) raises private funds to support the Library's mission and vision. The 15-person team comprises a dynamic group of professionals with expertise across all areas of fundraising, including individual giving, corporate relations and strategic partnerships, special events, foundation and government grants, and development operations.

The Development Department's Part-Time Donation Processing Associate is a motivated self-starter working 19 hours per week and reporting to the Assistant Manager, Donation Processing. The Associate supports the department with entry and allocation for donations from a variety of sources into Raisers Edge and ensures the integrity and accuracy of donor data through consistent data entry practices.

This a part-time position. The salary range for this position is $23 - $25 an hour for up to a 19-hour workweek.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter gift data in Raisers Edge NXT, maintaining consistency in gift recording and donor attribution.

  • Support data hygiene by adhering to entry conventions, identifying and resolving duplicate records and inconsistencies, and updating contact information.

  • Conduct basic donor research.

  • Stay updated on best practices for Raiser's Edge use and data management.

Qualifications and skills

  • One year or more of administrative or data entry experience, preferably in a non-profit development, fundraising or academic setting.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Strong judgment and discretion, particularly when handling confidential donor information.

  • Familiarity with Raisers Edge NXT preferred. (Training to be provided)

  • Familiarity with Omatic, Workday, Classy desirable.
