Your day to day:
As Area Director of Sales & Marketing covering the InterContinental Dominica, Six Senses Grenada and InterContinental Grenada(Opening Q3 of 2026, you will develop and implement strategies to ensure revenue and room night sales goals are achieved, sales and marketing strategies are set, tactical plans are created and implemented, and results are monitored and achieved.
Leadership
  • Deploy sales and marketing colleagues for comprehensive coverage of key markets, segments, and customers
  • Develop your team and improve their performance through training, coaching and feedback
  • Assign performance and development goals for colleagues; monitor achievement of revenue targets and course correct when needed
  • Drive a great working environment for your teams to thrive, creating synergy between the two resorts and a sense of one team
  • Develop and maintain great working relationships with key clients, guests, vendors and communities in local markets

Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Lead the strategic commercial plan for both resorts, working with Revenue Management and Marketing Communications
  • Implement strategies and programming that are tailored to the market segments of both resorts
  • With RM and GMs, analyze growth opportunities across key segments
  • Develop a strong sales strategic plan that maximizes high season revenue and creates shoulder season opportunities
  • Working with digital marketing and PR partners, develop and execute strategy to maximize awareness, interest, and realized revenues for the resorts

Cluster Sales Management
  • Develop a comprehensive travel and trade show plan to maximize coverage and impact
  • Work closely with Luxury Lifestyle Global Sales to coordinate sales plans
  • Monitor sales deployment and performance of the sales team
  • Nurture a proactive sales culture and an effective prospecting program

Financial Management and Reporting
  • Prepare departmental budgets and financial plans including both resorts' commercial plan
  • Create and implement commercial plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, achieve RevPAR goals, food and beverage, and catering revenues
  • Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share,e and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan

Guest Experience
  • Create programming at both resorts to drive incremental revenues
  • Communicate special needs for arriving VIPs, large groups, and other key guests
  • Lead marketing efforts to upsell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities

Responsible Business
  • Work closely with key business leaders, officials, and representatives of local community groups within the city to ensure constant high-profile exposure for the hotel
  • Effectively communicate and market aspects of the hotel that are sustainable or "green" and use information to gain new business opportunities
  • Work with advertising agencies, consulting firms, and vendors to maximize advertising investments and ensure ads represent brand identity
  • Raise the awareness and reputation of your hotel and the brand locally - occasionally acting as hotel representative for media-related inquiry
  • Identify improvements to marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with other departments
  • Ad-hoc duties - unexpected moments when we must pull together to get a task done

Accountability
This is the top commercial role overseeing two resorts. Resorts may have multiple sites and facilities, high-volume catering and/or convention facilities, and a large number of VIP and special service guests. May manage a large number of professional-level and administrative sales, catering, and/or convention employee
Skills and Experience
  • To execute the position of Area Director of Sales & Marketing, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills, and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
  • Five or more years of experience in a senior sales and marketing role
  • Experience in managing a remote team(s); dual property experience is ideal
  • Strong knowledge of the Caribbean market and business trends preferred
  • Technical skills include Advanced MS Office and familiarity with various property systems

The salary range for this position is $200,000.00 - 220,000.00 This role is also eligible for bonus pay (as applicable). We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and other benefits to employees.
