What are Doms?

Doms, short for Dominants, are individuals who take on the authoritative or controlling role in consensual power exchange relationships, often in the context of BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Submission, Sadism, and Masochism). Their responsibilities can include setting boundaries, ensuring safety, and guiding their submissive partner through various activities that may involve physical or psychological control. It's essential for Doms to communicate openly, respect consent, and prioritize the well-being of all participants. The role can vary greatly depending on the preferences and agreements of those involved.

What are some common challenges faced by a Dom in professional settings, and how can they be effectively managed?

In professional environments, Doms often encounter challenges such as establishing clear boundaries, ensuring safe and consensual interactions, and maintaining effective communication with clients. Navigating these challenges requires strong interpersonal skills, thorough knowledge of safety protocols, and the ability to adapt to individual client needs. Doms typically work independently but may also collaborate with other professionals (such as event organizers or safety monitors) to create a respectful and secure environment. Continuous education, open communication, and regular feedback help maintain professionalism and client satisfaction in this unique role.

What jobs pay $700 a day?

For a Dom, which typically refers to a professional dominant in the BDSM industry, earning $700 a day is possible with experience, reputation, and client volume. Other high-paying jobs that can reach this daily rate include specialized consulting, freelance contracting in tech or finance, and certain skilled trades like construction or electrical work, often requiring certifications and a strong client base.

What qualifications do I need to work at Dominion?

Vice President, eCommerce & DOM Engineering and Architecture
Position Overview
The Vice President, eCommerce & DOM Engineering and Architecture is the senior technology leader accountable for the engineering organization, technical architecture, and platform health of Signet's customer-facing eCommerce and Distributed Order Management ecosystem across our brand portfolio. The VP owns the technical direction of SAP Commerce Cloud, IBM Sterling OMS, Akamai CDN/WAF, and the integrated commerce stack - translating customer experience priorities into resilient, scalable, and cost-effective technology outcomes.
This is a leader-first role. The VP builds trust-based partnerships with senior business executives, empowers a team of Sr. Director-level leaders, and ensures technology is a competitive advantage for Signet's brands - not just a delivery function.
Core Accountabilities
Engineering & Talent Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop Sr. Directors and their organizations across eCommerce engineering, architecture, and DOM; act as a force multiplier who elevates direct reports rather than operating tactically.
  • Set the engineering operating model, talent strategy, and FTE-to-contingent workforce mix in partnership with HR and Finance.
  • Champion engineering culture and team health; establish DX/DORA-aligned metrics to measure delivery quality over time.
  • Lead the team's evolution toward an AI-assisted development model, progressively reducing dependence on external contractor capacity.

Senior Executive Business Partnership
  • Build peer-level relationships with senior executives across Digital Product, Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations, Customer Care, and Finance.
  • Translate CX strategy and brand priorities into a coherent technical roadmap anchored in customer outcomes, not technical preference.
  • Represent the eCommerce/DOM technology agenda in executive forums; communicate risks and trade-offs in business terms.

Architecture, Platform Strategy & Technical Direction
  • Own the multi-year technical architecture and platform roadmap anchored on SAP Commerce Cloud v2 and IBM Sterling OMS, covering CMS, search, and edge security.
  • Set and enforce architectural standards and guardrails supporting a multi-brand, multi-country footprint.
  • Drive evaluation and adoption of emerging commerce technologies in partnership with the broader Digital & Technology organization.

Delivery, Vendor & Partner Management
  • Drive predictable, high-quality delivery of the eCommerce and DOM portfolio in partnership with Digital Product and Personalization leadership.
  • Own strategic vendor and SI relationships (SAP, IBM, Akamai); hold partners accountable to outcomes, SLAs, and economics.

Operational Excellence, Reliability & Security
  • Own availability, performance, and incident-response posture for revenue-critical platforms; partner with InfoSec on WAF, edge protection, and PCI requirements.
  • Establish platform SLOs, peak-readiness, and DR posture; drive continuous improvement of observability and release engineering practices.

Financial Stewardship
  • Own the operating budget, capital plan, and total cost of ownership for the eCommerce/DOM technology portfolio.
  • Drive vendor optimization, license rationalization, and workforce conversions that improve economics and capability.

Experience & Successful Profile
  • MBA or technical Master's preferred. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required;
  • 12+ years of progressive technology leadership in eCommerce, digital commerce, or omnichannel retail.
  • Proven experience leading engineering organizations at scale, including Sr. Director-level leaders and their teams, with a preference for empowering over operating tactically.
  • SAP Commerce Cloud (v2/Composable), IBM Sterling OMS, and CDN/WAF in a multi-brand, multi-country retail context.
  • Track record of peer-level partnerships with senior business executives (VP+) across Digital, Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations, and Finance.
  • Demonstrated focus on customer experience outcomes - partnering with Product and Design to translate CX strategy into engineering roadmaps.
  • Strong financial acumen including budget and capital-plan ownership; comfort operating in a matrixed environment.
  • Omnichannel retail or consumer complexity required; specialty retail or jewelry experience preferred.

Location & Work Environment
  • Coppell, TX preferred;
  • Travel approximately 15-20% domestic and occasional international.
