Fashion Design Internship at Sustainable Clothing Startup

Jenness

Chestnut Hill, MA • On-site

Part-time

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

Company Description

Born in Boston but inspired by the ocean, Jenness is an up and coming, sustainable fashion brand. We are currently developing a nylon based bomber jacket that's constructed from recycled fishing net. Our mission is to eliminate discarded fishing nets from our oceans since they are responsible for killing an estimated 1000 whales, dolphins, and seals every day.

Job Description

The intern's role will include but not be limited to helping us with the early design process (creating drawings/technical drawings of the jacket), contributing to design ideas (while we have an idea of what we want the jacket to look like, we are open to hearing varying opinions), and consulting us on current sustainable fashion methods/trends.

We are looking for someone who can bring an unique fashion perspective to our company and assist us in designing the jacket. Most importantly, as a start-up, we also are looking for someone who has great energy, is willing to try new things, and believes in our mission as much as we do. Although this is a currently a non-paid internship, it could very well lead to a full time lucrative position.
