DOG STYLIST / DOG GROOMER


MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE


The Pet Patrol Dog Hotel is always looking for experienced all-breed DOG STYLIST / DOG GROOMER to join our team. Successful candidates will have hands-on experience providing bathing and grooming services to all breeds of dogs with a keen eye for detail.


You must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work early mornings, many weekends and holidays IS A MUST. We offer a competitive hourly wage, benefits, and a professional work environment.


Requirements


  • Must be able to handle and control dogs of all sizes
  • Must enjoy working with both people and pets
  • Must have the stamina and mobility required to interact with energetic dogs as well as ensure our pet resort looks inviting and clean
  • Must have a flexible work schedule where you can work during the week, weekends and holidays as scheduled by your manager
  • Must be able to follow directions and comply with processes and procedures
  • Must have a keen sense of observation animal behavior and knowledge when observing the pets to know if there is something wrong
  • Cannot be allergic to dogs or sensitive/fearful of dogs or all sizes.
  • Must be able to multi-task and handle multiple assignments in a short period of time.
  • Must understand that cleaning up after dogs and cleansing the facility is a requirement of the job.
  • Must have a positive, upbeat attitude and personality
  • This position requires constant moving around, being on your feet, and CLEANING having enough arm strength and hand grasp required to handle leashes and animal collars to maintain control of an animal.
  • Must have prior grooming experience


Primary Duties

  1. Perform bath/grooming functions as requested by client and described on the groom card
    1. Nail trim
    2. Tooth brushing
    3. Brush-out
    4. Bath
    5. Hair cuts
  2. Prepare dogs for bathing in accordance to procedures
    1. Brush out dog with proper tools
    2. Trim nails
    3. Clean ears
  3. Dry dogs completely
    1. When time permits hand dry dogs completely
    2. Cage dryer is to be used for bath dogs, intermediate drying of groom dogs, and for dogs that are overstressed by the hand dryer
    3. All groom dogs must be completely dry and finished drying by hand
  4. Finish dogs as requested
    1. All dogs should be finish brushed and combed.
    2. Bath dogs should have cologne and bandana applied unless client requests otherwise.
  5. Keep bathing stations stocked with supplies, tools cleaned and ready for use. Supplies provided.
  6. Keep groom shop clean
    1. During the work day keep the room safe by wiping up water spills and pet accidents as soon as possible
    2. At the end of each workday all hair should be swept/vacuumed/mopped from floor and cleaned from tubs/shower
    3. Holding cages should be ready for next days arrivals
  7. Update pet status in company software system. Advise receptionist when dogs that are to be called when ready are finished.
  8. Follow safety procedures for pets and staff at all times. Ask for assistance when a pet is stressed, very difficult to manage or showing any signs of injury
