Job description

Olivet Kennel and Dog Training Resort is looking for dog lovers to join our team! You'll be responsible for supervising and caring for dogs in our kennel facility . If you enjoy a fast-paced job where every day brings something new, and above all, have a passion for pups, you'll love working with us. We need patient, reliable, and motivated people with an understanding of dog behavior and a calm yet assertive energy around dogs. These dogs are family so we require you to create an environment that will be friendly and enriching for our guests. We take this responsibility seriously, providing peace of mind to parents that the highest level of care is being given to their best friend. We work as hard as we play, go home tired and sometimes covered in dog hair and slobber, but we absolutely love what we do! This is a great opportunity for those with experience, college students (especially animal science majors) and anyone interested in a career with dogs. Must be 18 years of age or older. Duties included but not limited to:

Dog handling experience (PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT CONSIDER OWNING YOUR OWN PET ANIMAL EXPERIENCE!!)

  • Customer service experience
  • Confidence with all types and levels of dogs
  • Cleaning all main areas, including wash down/sanitizing of and yards
  • Monitoring play in the kennel exercise yards and in the min daycare yard
  • Helping with pick-up and drop-offs
  • Evaluating, socializing, and safely introducing new dogs to the pack
  • Poop Scooping, filling water buckets, and health checks
  • Bathing and nail trimming

Requirements:

  • 1 year or more of professional animal experience.
  • Work well with others.
  • Weekends and Holiday Availability. Our busy time is summer and holidays. You will be expected to work during these times.
  • Working in all weather conditions.
  • Able to spend long period on your feet.
