Job description

Title: Playground Monitor
Status: Supplemental
Salary: $13.50
Description

The City of Fishers is seeking a friendly and attentive Playground Monitor to help create a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for children and families at the Fishers Community Center. This position monitors playground access and capacity, helps ensure children enter and exit with their supervising adults, and communicates playground guidelines clearly and professionally. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, enjoys interacting with families, and is committed to providing excellent customer service in an active environment.
Available shift options include: MondayFriday, 9:00 a.m.2:00 p.m. or 3:008:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m.2:00 p.m. or 3:007:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 12:005:00 p.m.

Examples of Duties
  • Greet and engage with families in a warm, professional, and respectful manner.
  • Monitor the playground entrance and exit and maintain an accurate real-time capacity count including asking families as they exit whether they are leaving for the day so the capacity count can be adjusted.
  • Provide excellent customer service by listening attentively, responding to questions and concerns, providing accurate information regarding playground guidelines, and proactively resolving issues to ensure a positive member and guest experience.
  • Follow established safety procedures and assist staff in responding to incidents, injuries, or emergencies.
  • Ensure safety of patrons and be prepared to take charge in an emergency if necessary. Act as a first responder in the event of an emergency, providing immediate assistance, administering first aid or CPR as needed, and following proper emergency protocols to ensure member and staff safety. Report any emergencies immediately and complete accident reports as necessary.
  • Attend all required training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Perform duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff.
  • Must have an Adult CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within the first 60 days. Training will be provided.
  • Must be able to work in environment with frequent interruptions and background noise.
