About the Family:

We are a dynamic family with four children (ages 14, 11, 4, and 1) and a 40-pound dog who lives with us part-time. We have demanding careers as professionals (a doctor and in the sports industry), so we work outside of the home in offices and on the road. Our family life can get chaotic, particularly during work travel seasons when most household duties fall on one parent. Our girls attend school and daycare, and we travel frequently, often with the kids. We need someone who can become an integral part of our family, invest in our children, and manage day-to-day operations to bring order and much-needed support to our busy home.

Who Our Family Is Looking For:

We need a self-starter who can jump into our fast-paced home without constant direction. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate and solve problems proactively. Flexibility, commitment to long-term family partnership, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities are essential. You will be responsible for managing household systems, children's schedules, meal prep, and most importantly, providing stability and support during both parents' busy work and travel schedules.

The candidate should also be comfortable with driving (a clean driving record is required) and be a reliable partner in the household, helping with organizing daily life and providing childcare and family support. If you are open to traveling with the family, that is a plus!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain indoor/outdoor spaces, including plants and outdoor cushions
  • Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for biweekly cleaning services
  • Oversee household schedules and calendars
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (e.g., clothing, dcor, bedding, etc.)
  • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and pick-ups
  • dump runs
  • Posting things to sell on Facebook Marketplace, etc.
  • Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
  • Maintain indoor plants
  • support executive functioning and helping define chores for the kids, setting expectations (allowances)

Childcare & Family Support:

  • Provide light childcare for the younger children (school pickups, daily routines)
  • Assist with homework, school projects, and transportation to/from activities
  • Help with packing/unpacking for family trips and logistics when one parent is handling child care solo
  • Support in creating chore systems for the children
  • Occasional light supervision or playtime with the kids
  • Flexibility to step in on weekends to allow parents time away or for special trips

Meal Planning & Preparation:

  • Assist with meal planning (healthy family-friendly meals, lunch, and dinner prep)
  • Creative menu planning that can accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
  • Manage grocery shopping (online orders, local stores)
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Transportation & Errands:

  • Support with carpooling, transportation to sports/events, and errands
  • Take care of the dog rarely (vet visits, walks)
  • Coordinate transportation logistics for family trips and events

Calendar & Logistics:

  • Manage family calendars (appointments, events, sports activities)
  • Track healthcare needs (dental/medical visits)
  • Weekend Preparation (prepare weekend sports bags, uniform organization)

Laundry & Household Cleaning:

  • Manage light cleaning tasks, including resetting rooms and maintaining the home between cleaning service visits
  • Wash, dry, fold, and put away laundry on a regular, consistent schedule
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Proactive and Organized: Able to handle daily busy schedules for a family of six, anticipate needs, and take ownership of tasks without needing constant direction
  • Strong Communicator: Capable of coordinating with the family, other help, and vendors
  • Flexible and Calm Under Pressure: Comfortable adjusting to changing schedules and managing multiple tasks
  • Self-sufficient: Able to come into a chaotic environment, create order, and improve systems
  • Experienced with Children: Comfortable managing kids' schedules, activities, and well-being
