We are hiring walkers in DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Clinton Hill, DoBro, Park Slope, Fort Green, South Slope, Bed Stuy, Crown Heights, Prospect Leffert Gardens, Ditmas Park, Kensington, and Flatbush.

What is a typical day like for an NYC Pooch Dog Walker?
Our Route Walkers generally work from 10am-6pm Monday through Friday. They are assigned to one specific area and usually walk the same dogs each day, forming a bond with each pup, and building a great rapport with each client.

Applicants must have the following availability: Monday - Friday, 10AM - 6PM, and must be able to commit for at least 8 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Walk and exercise dogs in all weather conditions, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Provide attentive pet care, including feeding, grooming, and administering medication as needed.
  • Manage time effectively to accommodate multiple clients and their pets.
  • Communicate clearly with management regarding the dogs' behavior and health.
  • Utilize animal handling skills to maintain control and ensure a positive experience for pets.
  • Upload photos and create comprehensive service reports after each walk
  • This role may require bending, leaning, lifting, kneeling, running, twisting, and other repetitive actions. You'll also be ascending/descending stairs, using elevators, opening doors, and interacting with dogs, people, and wildlife.
  • You must be able to navigate through the cityscape, including sidewalks, pathways, and stairs, as well as crossing roads and intersections with city traffic while keeping dogs safe.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 18 years or older
  • Must have a smartphone and a portable phone charger.
  • Punctual and Detail Oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Must love dogs with an understanding and willingness to learn about their care.
  • Have a good understanding of transit logistics and time management in the city.
  • Able to keep up with the physical demands of being on your feet and walking for much of the day.
  • Able to cope with inclement weather. (rain, snow, cold, or heat wave, we walk through it all)
  • Comfortable with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments.
  • Patience with all sorts of doggy antics and behavior issues.
  • Honest and hardworking, with a strong work ethic.
  • A strong oral and written communicator.
  • Upbeat and personable, with a warm and caring personality.
