Job description

Job Summary

Boops Co. Boarding and Daycare is seeking a reliable Dog Daycare Attendant to provide excellent care to dogs staying at our facility. The ideal candidate is someone who loves animals and can provide high-quality pet care for our customers while their dogs play/stay with us. We expect you to provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for dogs and put customers at ease, assuring them that their pets will be safe. You will also inform customers of the various services we provide. Prior experience in animal care or kennel management is preferred.

Candidates under the age of 18 will NOT be considered

Dog Day Care Attendant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Give dogs food and water throughout the day
  • Take dogs for walks
  • Handle daily tasks
  • Clean and maintain kennels, keeping them free of waste, fur/hair, and other unsanitary or hazardous materials
  • Supervise play areas to ensure pet safety
  • Keep records of feeding and walking schedules for each dog
  • Perform light receptionist duties, such as answering phones, sending text messages
  • Handle POS operations; check customers in/out, utilize computer software for transactions, etc.
  • Grooming Tasks such as dog bathing, nail trimming, etc.

Dog Day Care Attendant Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • Prior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or in personal animal care preferred
  • Passion for taking care of animals
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina for cleaning/maintaining kennels and handling large breed dogs in a group setting
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Ability to lift 50lbs., bend and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to be Pet First Aid & CPR certified
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment under pressure
  • Have excellent attention to detail
