Wendell Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time dog groomer to join our dedicated staff in Wendell, just 30 minutes east of Raleigh.

Wendell Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital serving Wendell and surrounding areas. The hospital opened in 2021 under the leadership of Dr. Kimberly Foca. Our practice is spacious and is fully equipped with in-house labs, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, and ultrasound. Dr. Foca sees a large variety of exotics patients and is happy to provide mentorship in this area. However, an interest in exotics is not a requirement for this position. Our team is truly dedicated to improving the lives of both people and animals.

Position Overview:


The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and experience in grooming various breeds of dogs. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services while ensuring the comfort and safety of pets in your care. This role requires excellent animal handling skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping
  • Assess the condition of each dog’s coat and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques
  • Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and recommendations
  • Handle dogs of various breeds and temperaments with care and compassion
  • Stay updated on grooming trends and techniques
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Previous experience in dog grooming or a related field
  • Knowledge of different dog breeds and grooming requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and a passion for animal care
  • Certification from a recognized grooming school is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds?with or without accommodation
