Job description

About Us
At The Foggy Dog, we believe your best friend deserves the best. That’s why we are passionate about making high-quality pet accessories that are as beautiful as they are functional. And, every order helps a pup in need: since launch, we are proud to have provided over 500,000 pounds of food to rescue shelters. Our products are available at thefoggydog.com and in over 1,000 brick-and-mortar retailers.
We are a small (but mighty!) female-founded team based in San Francisco. As a family-owned business, we are invested in finding the best people to join our tightly knit team. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a creative, energetic, data-driven environment and share our values of collaboration, communication, and positivity. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a huge impact on a fast-growing ecommerce company from the ground up.
About the Job
Do you love social media, content creation and DOGS? If so, this is your dream job. The Foggy Dog is looking for a creative, enthusiastic Social Media Manager who is equal parts creator, community builder, and operator. The ideal candidate is deeply immersed in social media culture, loves creating video content, thrives on building relationships, and is organized enough to flawlessly execute across multiple platforms, campaigns, and partnerships.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a beloved consumer brand and our fun community of over 350,000 dog lovers. This role reports into our Head of Brand and Creative and is based in San Francisco (we are hybrid and in office two days/week).

Responsibilities:
Social Strategy & Content:
  • Develop and execute social media strategies across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn, creating platform-specific content and storytelling that drives engagement while making each campaign feel distinct and culturally relevant.
  • Own the social content calendar, ensuring alignment with launches, campaigns, partnerships, and seasonal & cultural moments.
  • Create engaging short-form content including Reels, TikToks, Stories, photo carousels, and trend-driven content with compelling, on-brand captions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, merchandising, and marketing teams to translate campaign priorities into social-first storytelling.
Community Engagement:
  • Foster a vibrant community of dog lovers around The Foggy Dog brand. Proactively create conversations, engage with customers and creators, and build meaningful relationships that increase loyalty and advocacy.
  • Respond to comments, DMs, tags, and customer interactions in a timely and brand-aligned manner.
  • Build authentic relationships with brand ambassadors, creators, rescue organizations, and other community partners.
  • Identify opportunities for UGC, reposting, and community-led storytelling.
  • Own communication with our Brand Ambassadors across social channels and in-person events.
  • Identify and coordinate gifting opportunities with creators to generate authentic UGC and social content that supports brand campaigns, product launches, and key storytelling moments.
Analytics & Reporting:
  • Monitor social performance metrics and provide regular reporting and insights.
  • Analyze engagement, reach, follower growth, profile visits, traffic, and conversion trends.
  • Use data to optimize content strategy and platform performance.
  • Stay current on all platform updates, trends, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 3+ years of social media experience, ideally in DTC, lifestyle, fashion, beauty, pet, or consumer brands.
  • Strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok best practices and trends, and a proven ability to create content that feels native to each platform
  • Exceptional creative abilities with a knack for storytelling and crafting engaging content that feels native to each platform.
  • Natural content creator with a strong personal presence. You love being on social media, instinctively understand what makes people stop scrolling, and are energized by creating content, appearing on camera, interviewing customers, attending events, and building relationships both online and in person.
  • Familiarity with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro). Graphic design skills are a bonus.
  • Extremely outgoing, energetic, and relationship-oriented. You genuinely enjoy meeting new people, engaging with customers and creators, building community, and being an active face of the brand both online and offline.
  • Experience using social scheduling and analytics tools.
  • Excellent copywriting skills, with accurate grammar and spelling.
  • A self-starter with excellent organizational, project management, and time-management skills. Able to manage content calendars, creator. partnerships, gifting programs, campaign timelines, approvals, and reporting without letting details fall through the cracks.
  • A devoted dog parent yourself, who can resonate and empathize with our dog-obsessed community!
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive package including:
  • Salary range of $90-110K depending on experience.
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with matching.
  • Paid vacation, holidays and sick leave.
