Job description

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Electrical Designer opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN at the Y-12 National Security Complex.
Position Overview:
The Electrical Designer will work in the Y-12 Division Managed Design Engineering Field Design Support group.
Responsibilities/skills include:
  • Drafting in Bentley MicroStation: One-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, Instrumentation and Controls Diagrams, conduit/cable schedules, fire alarm and communication drawings
  • Preparing data sheets, specifications, and walkdown reports
  • Work in concert with electrical engineers and other CAD drafters from the same work group

Qualifications:
  • Associates or higher degree in a technical field and a minimum of six years of related experience or a high school diploma and 13 or more years of relevant experience
  • Bently MicroStation software experience
  • Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution and industrial control systems
  • Experience with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL508A
  • Must be able to support construction and operational activities related to design outputs.

Other Job Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance
  • Field walkdowns will be required, sometimes in radiological contaminated areas.

Work Schedule:
Typical work schedule will be Monday-Thursday, 10-hour days (4/10 schedule)
